I have a patient who is in her late 40s. She's a female, and unfortunately she does suffer from the autoimmune condition of lupus. This has been something that has been a very substantial obstacle in her health journey for the last several years.
So when she came into the practice — as with so many of my autoimmune patients — we start by looking at dysregulated gut health. One of the things we did was place her on a peptide called larazotide. Larazotide is going to improve the integrity of the gastrointestinal barrier to stop some of the inflammatory cascade and the immune dysregulation that drives autoimmune conditions.
